People are always free. Invite as many grown-ups as you like to record for your kids — on every plan, including the free one. The only thing a plan sizes is the shelf.
The cast
A family is everyone who reads to them
An invitation is an email or a link. Whoever opens it becomes a recording artist for your family — nothing to buy, nothing to set up.
Grandma
Records the long ones. Does all the voices. Has never once finished a book in one sitting.
Uncle Pete
Three time zones away and somehow still the favourite reader in the house.
Dad
Records from hotels. Says goodnight between the pages.
The babysitter
Reads the same book slightly wrong every time, which the kids insist on.
Invite anyone
One link. That's the whole onboarding.
From the Family tab, invite a grown-up by email. They get a link, make an account (Google, Apple, a password — their choice), and they're in. They see the books on your shelf and can record any of them.
Roles are simple. Admins run the family — the shelf, the plan, the PIN. Recording artists record. A grandparent who only wants to read never sees a setting.

The shelf is the permission list
Put a book on the shelf and everyone can record it
An admin records straight from the catalog. But when you want Grandma to read something first, add it to the bookshelf without recording — that's her invitation to it. Artists can also ask for a book, and you approve with a tap.
